Changes and Introductions
Welcome, my dear readers and friends. If you’ve been following along with my blog, The Razor’s Edge, you may have noticed some changes. I’ve deleted all of my old material and decided to turn the blog in a new direction.
On July 31, 2008 I began to write the novel, The Razor’s Edge. It was a wonderful period in my life, where I was inspired and driven to tell the tale of Eve Lauren:
~
I had it all, an established multi-million dollar event planning company, a penthouse overlooking Central Park South, a mansion in LA, a gorgeous fiancé and the world at my fingertips. My fiancé, Jude Wright co-founded the LA firm, Smith & Wright – the most well known Entertainment Agency in America. As partners, we had a client list that could not be beat. Some even said we owned a “monopoly” on the industry. He ran in the circle and I entertained it. Life was perfect.
Then he proposed. And my world came crashing down.
I didn’t want to give up my career for his. I loathed the idea of becoming a housewife, living his dream. But I loved our life together and I flew to Paris to surprise him with my answer. He was attending a business meeting. Or so I thought.
I didn’t know if I wanted to castrate him or murder her first, as he dropped her to her feet. He stood there motionless, mouth ajar, staring at me lying in the bed of his hotel room. But this wasn’t a planned ménage à trois. He was having an affair.
Three months later, I couldn’t handle it anymore. The rags were driving me nuts, we were in every paper in every city. He begged and pleaded with me, but his calls went unanswered. I refused to give into the hurt, the pain, the shame. How could I, the Queen of weddings be so blindsided by his behavior?
I had to run away from it all. Far, far away. To a place where no one would know who I was. Somewhere where I could re-invent myself. Someplace that could breathe new life into me. Somewhere where I could just be me.
That place was Finland, where the journey of The Razor’s Edge begins, where I met a marvelous artist who set my soul on fire … I invite you to read along.
This is the journal of not one person, but three.
- The author of the novels, who writes as Sibyl. You’ll find her blogging about technical aspects of the writing process and about the characters spinning in her head.
- The main character of the novel, Eve Lauren. That’s me. (Well technically, it’s Sibyl writing as me, but I am alive in her head and now yours.) I’ll let you in on my thought processes, who I am and what motivates me. You’ll even find journal entries to people in my life. Yes, I’ll let you in. (Lucky you!)
- The hero of the novel, Valo Ruska. He doesn’t blog much, but when he does – watch out, he’s pure sex. With an accent. A hot, Finnish accent. And like Jude, he has it all, on a smaller scale. While he’s famous in his own right, he’s got a darker side not many people know about. Until now.
Until my next installment, give her a kiss worth dying for – and open your heart. ~ Eve
(With a little help from Sibyl too.
